Maintaining Good Practice

- The ANHOPS newsletter, about to be re-launched, also provides a method of keeping a finger on the pulse of NHS OH
Working with Colleagues
- Our Autumn workshops provide an opportunity top work with colleagues, to develop ANHOPS Guidance Notes
- The Executive Committee liaises on behalf of members with other key OH bodies, including the Faculty and Society of Occupational Medicine, the DoH and their HR branch, HSE, BMA and RCN OH committees and others
- Many regions have active ANHOPS groups, affording opportunities for discussions with colleagues, audit and clinical update sessions
ANHOPS Website
- The members only area has a discussion forum, in which members can seek the views and assistance of peers to any NHS OH problem or topic in their practice
- ANHOPS also publishes a members directory, to ease communications between members.
Teaching and Training
- ANHOPS sponsors an annual training day for SpRs, aiming to cover some of the topics perhaps not so well addressed in traditional training programmes
Research
- ANHOPS has contributed to research into such topics as low back pain and influenza immunisation. A bursary is also available for SpR research.
Membership
- Is open to all registered medical practitioners providing OH services in or to the NHS. Subscription is by direct debit, at a cost of £30 per year. This includes access to the website. ANHOPS is a not-for-profit organisation, with any surplus being retained for the benefit of the membership and the achievement of the Association's objectives.
